Huh? You are asking me why I love this industry? Why do I act so excited all the time?
Well, the answer shouldn’t surprise you. I have been here with GCS since the beginning and I gotta tell ya, I love it. I love the company, I love the industry, I love our customers and, of course, I love our team.
See, we are solving real world problems. Complex, challenging problems that all CSPs face. That takes not only intelligence, but dare I say, moxie and gumption, and I really like that. You know, 8 years ago when we first launched our dROM product in 2009 we weren’t sure what the market response was going to be. But we made a bet and we knew we were seeing something here that the marketplace was missing. Our patented Dynamic Routing Management solution (dROM) provided one of the first truly Next Gen routing solutions in the marketplace. It was a disruptive technology. It forever changed LCR. Fast forward to 2017. Nobody thinks of routing in terms of LCR tables or spreadsheets (at least we hope they don’t). Everyone expects there to be a dynamic, real-time routing engine that performs routing decisions on a call-by-call basis to optimize the outcome based on the business and network policy. That’s really cool.
Eight years later and our architecture, our perspective on routing and how interconnect voice should work has won the day. We take great pride in that. But we didn’t rest on our laurels. We didn’t spike the ball and say game over. We said, “There’s more for us to do”. And there is. There’s plenty to do in this thriving industry with complex challenges. That’s why I love it and that’s why I am so passionate about it.
